Journey Groups

Small Groups exist to bring people together and grow in our relationship with Christ. We believe God created us to live in relationship with others and only then can we live the full life He intends for us. Sharing life with God in mind through community is part of our design, but meaningful relationships aren’t always easy to find. That’s why small groups exist—to make these life-changing relationships relevant and accessible to you.

The book of Judges cracks a window into depths of the human soul. Watch a nation struggle with its identity and relationship to its God. Heroes and heroines arise, who seem to have the potential to save Israel. But in the end, each proves to be a broken saviour that cannot deliver.

In this series, pastor and author J.D. Greear wades into the book of Judges to shine a light onto the muddy waters of human rebellion. The stories and truths within are not just archaic tales with no relevance for us today. Rather, J.D. works through each chapter unpacking the truth of God’s grace in the midst of human wickedness, and shows how only the divine can redeem the fallen.

We all learn how to pray by praying along those who are prayer warriors. God is looking for those who will rise up, stand in the gap and pray. Ezekiel 22:30 - I searched for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand in the gap before Me for (the sake of) the land, that I would not destroy it, but I found no one (not even one).

Come let us learn together how to pray and experience the power of corporate prayer.  All are welcome, any age! Let us storm the gates of heaven together!

Feel free to join us any Tuesday!

TITUS by Chip Ingram

In this Book of the Bible series, Chip Ingram unpacks the book of Titus. He challenges us to display the gospel in our lives through doing good. We do good works not to earn God’s favour, but as a result of God’s favour. When the gospel has truly taken root in our lives, it produces the fruit of godliness. As we pass these things on to future generations, the Church stands in bright contrast to the darkness of the world.

FOLLOW JESUS - by Greg Ogden

Are you passionate about following Jesus? Jesus is the primary shaping influence over all of our life. His own pattern of disciple-making was to be intimately involved with others through the ups and downs of life. This Discipleship Essentials small group offers you an opportunity to do the same!

Gather in small pods of two or three (maximum 4) to study the Bible and encourage one another to live more fully into what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. This study will strengthen your faith as you deepen your knowledge of key Christian teachings. Your pod can meet anytime and any place that works best for the group…Contact Jessy or Jan for more information, to facilitate your own pod and/or to join a pod! (three pods currently in progress)

Facilitators: Jan Muth and Jessy Bilodeau

by Greg Ogden

“Discipleship has been absolutely transformational! Through the workbook and our discussions, I have learned more about myself, the world, and how I fit in the world in the eyes of our Lord. I used to let my happiness be dictated by the events of the day, but now, bad days are so few and far between... that I can't recall any recent bad days! Through this incredible journey, I have learned to align my purpose to God's vision, and I've finally found home - lasting joy and peace in His presence.”  - Emi Linds

“I was in a place in my life where I wanted more and was hungry to grow my relationship more intimately with Jesus.  I wanted to see myself the way He saw me.  This study has set a healthy foundational understanding of how to do life well with God. Doing life with the ladies in my pod group and going through the discipleship essentials study has been SO, SO transformational.  I have never felt so confident, rooted, stable and at peace with my identity in Christ. Would highly recommend to those who just want MORE.”  - Chrissandra Viola

“Discipleship Essentials has been a great way to dive into the scriptures.  I love that it is a small trusting group.  I have been able to learn so much from the book and from scripture knowledge other members have.  It’s been amazing to have a very small group to grow with and trust, being able to ask questions and be honest with, having each other to pray, laugh, and cry with.  It’s met every need I had for a small group.”    - Karisa Derdall

Remember when you read that really great book?  Or when you snacked on carb-loaded, sugar-laden guilt-invoking treats? Or what about when you got together with a bunch of other ladies and talked until your face hurt?

I THINK WE SHOULD DO ALL THREE TOGETHER!  This small group book club is all about women getting together, reading a great fiction book and discussing it.  This group is focused on a relaxing evening with good discussion and a come-as-you-are atmosphere.  The group will move at a pace that will work best for everyone and allow for discussion and prayer time. We are going to start with a Francine Rivers novel titled “Her Mother’s Hope.”   The second (and final) book in the series is “Her Daughter’s Dream,” which may be considered for the Fall session.

FYI - This group will be held in a home with a dog family member.  If you are timid, the dog can be sequestered to another room in the house (and she is too fat and lazy to do anything about it!).

The *URSA Inglewood Home is a residential home to 12 disabled and brain injured adults of varying abilities, who have full-time caregivers on site. Some of the residents are non verbal and a few are severely disabled, while others are fully mobile, verbal and can play games. “For since the creation of the world, God’s invisible qualities - His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.” Romans 1:20

I love being in nature and seeing God’s power through it. This group is intended to bring people together and hit the mountains for some adventure. Whether it be snowshoeing, hiking, skating, canoeing, etc. I want to have some fun and develop strong friendships.

We will have fun. We will talk about God and how He intersects and directs our life. There will be worship on a mountain because that’s always a party! Let’s be intentional about knowing and encouraging each other, pushing each other toward Jesus and having a good time doing it!
